Review 26: Elfen Lied. (To...Much...Nakedness)

Review 26: Elfen Lied. (To...Much...Naked
ness)
Is naked killing women who don't even have to look at you for you to die good enough for you???Or do you need a bigger explanation???
Elfen lied is on of the goriest animes along with Higurashi when they cry and Blood-C.This Anime is sure to confuse you, disturb you and scare you silly. The series Is set around three main characters, two who are related and the other who is terribly confused and violent. Some of the characters pasts and stories behind them can be confusing, and the technology that the lab uses is even more mind boggling for me.

The story line is confusing to. As in the beginning we see one of our main characters escaping a government laboratory which keeps her kind of people trapped and tested on constantly so the problem with their powers, etc. can be contained to an extent. After a lot of violent and needless killing she ends up on a beach..... Stark naked..... She's then found by our other two main characters and taken somewhere safer than the beach. The series from this point starts to un-ravel the truth about all of our main characters, whats happened to their families and why Lucy is so dangerous to be around .

There are plenty of characters we grow to hate over the series of episodes, but even the main characters, who in a stereotypical anime would be loveable, are all hateable. This can be for many reasons, like Lucy, her split personality and violent nature makes us uneasy and we grow hatred towards this character. Kouta, as he lies a lot, bring up the past, is uneasy and nervous around others and relies on the other characters way too much, and maybe the fact that his stupid reckless decisions put everyone else in danger. Yuka, an annoying idiot in my eyes who's easy going until it comes to Kouta.

Lucy; Otherwise known as Nyuu, Lucy can be violent, aggressive and a little bit of a psychopathic killer when her personality splits. She's one of the original Diclonius's, they are said to be an ancient form of human being that attempted to destroy man kind once. They bring disaster and misfortune to those who come into contact with. She was placed in the lab for testing reasons and for the safety of the world, she was placed in from a young age and has been confined ever since.... so its not a surprise they start the series off with her finally escaping. Every time her personality splits and she goes back to being Lucy instead of Nyuu she tries to get away from the other characters as she knows that they'll get hurt and probably killed, also because of their horrific pasts. All in all Lucy is quite scary but because of the split personality, we all soon grow to love Nyuu instead of who she really is.

Yuka&Kouta; These two don't need as big an explanation than lucy, because the parts that they only play at the beginning are two innocent people helping out Lucy. They don't have powers or anything special like that. All we get to know at the beginning is that They are cousins who live quite far away from each other. The reason as too why Kouta has moved in with Yuka is due to educational purposes so to us this is nothing unusual.
The series is actually a great watch, that's if you can stomach amount of hearts that fly out of peoples bodies and the amount of blood..... It is quite an old anime that's been out for some time now.
The problem is that it hasn't really gotten noticed because compared to other animes the series is kind of short, and the gore that's in the anime, in fact just the first episode, throws a lot of people off of the rest of the series. An amazing anime from start to finish, I only have a small problem with the nakedness......There's to much of it.

Review 25: Amnesia (You forgotten yet)

Review 25: Amnesia (You forgotten yet)
Sorry, what's amnesia again.... Is it when you forget stuff???
This newly released yet confusing series of Amnesia has already become a big hit in certain parts of the UK, but will it reach us all..?
So then, the series starts off with a young girl waking up on a sofa in a rest room within a restaurant that she supposedly works at. Before we see her there she had apparently collapsed at work and didn't come round for a while.
She has no idea who these strange people are or what Orion is. Later on we figure out that they are all child hood friends, well apart from Orion. He later on reveals that he is not from this world and that he is from the realm of the spirits.
Our main character who's name is like never revealed, has already had an in counter with Orion before she lost her memories. He explains that this time he's just here to help out with her and the memory loss as he seems to be the reason she has forgotten everything that belonged to her.
We eventually start to reveal the girls past with the help of Orion. Which means unearthing disturbing things which should of been left forgotten.
Orion knows how to get the memories back without making her previous friends and co-workers suspicious of the memory loss. This means that when she's confused and passes out again (which happens a few times) she must not go to the hospital, she cannot see her friends that much as the memory burst may seem to be to over whelming for her and Orion, and it all has to be done before she even forgets how to breath and even live.
The two main characters are;
The girl: We don't actual get to know her name, well depending on what english subbed version you are watching. She appears to be innocent and forgiving when the series first starts but as she starts regaining memories she takes a turn for the worst. She's quite small, has long brown, pink dip dyed hair and looks cute in her maid outfit. she can't remember where she lives, her friends and where she works. She's the heart of the series and has everyone else focused on her at all times.
Orion: Our little friend who's out of this world. He's small, cute and loves mking our main character jump out of her skin and making her seem like she's gone insane as when she talks to him its like she's talking to her herself. He makes sure that throughout the seriets the girl who's lost her memories is the only one who can see, hear and talk to him. Later in the series Orion explains that its his fault she can't remember anything and has lost her memories, he explains too us all that when he passed into the world of the living he accidentally bumped into her soul, knocking it out of its place and erasing all that she had known.
The series its self isn't really the best i`ve seen as I'm mainly into action, but to say there's no violence whatsoever I think this series is quite good even though its out of my comfort zone completely. It was recommended to me by a close school friend, Lauren, so I have to say thanks babe its a great series and I really enjoyed it!!!

It really is a great series though; it has amazing graphics and is extremely amazing when it comes to attention to detail. The eyes, the hair and costumes are completely unique and in my eyes stand out amongst other characters of lesser importance and other animes. It really is worth your time.

Review 24: Bleach Movie 4, Hell Verse

Review 24: Bleach Movie 4, Hell Verse

Watch out Hell, Ichigo is on his way.....Yet again....... (I need to come up with new intros), Tite Kubo has come up with another great Bleach film... But rumor has it this maybe his last one, if so then its been a brilliant send off to Kubo's series of films that are Bleach.
In the opening to the film we see a previous fight in-between Ichigo and a Arrancar. This little opening to the film does seem pointless, as there are no Arrancars actually involved in the story line. This scene is to indicate that someone is watching Ichigo once he's lost control of his powers. We soon learn that the person who's been watching him fight is the one that wants to use all of Ichigos powers and cause trouble within the world of the living. In the beginning of the film, we see three mysterious characters attempting to destroy the school that Ichigo and his friends attend. It fails but they do cause some damage to the school and students (Nothing Major).
Soon after another two of these mysterious people appear, this time their not at the school but at Ichigos house and clinic. These two freaky looking characters have been assigned the task of abducting Ichigos little sisters. Only one of them is taken to hell though.... The rest of the film is basically Ichigo attempting to rescue one of his sisters from hell, trying not to lose control of his powers and keeping balance in the world of the living and Hell itself.
All in all I don't think this is the best Bleach flm that has been made. It lacks any sense of humor that the other films and episodes bring but has more action that fits in perfectly with the story line. For it to fit in with the other films and programmes I recommend a slightly humorous side is added to it just to lighten the mode slightly. The action is amazing and all but at times it was too quickly paced and hard to keep up with, but still had the amazing moves and graphics which we would expect from a Bleach film. The film still has all of the great aspects that we would anticipate from Bleach. One thing it doesn't have is the fact that it usually shows our main cast for Bleach, in this film it shows about half. The action is amazing but slightly fast paced.

A brilliant film from start to finish.

Review 23: Bleach Movie 3, Fade To Black.

Once again..... Another quick, funny action packed film to add to the collection that we've gathered so far. In the beginning of this film we see the freakiest squad captain Mayuri, losing his mind after the realisation of creating "an amazing" invention that will help the soul society.
Ok, ok he doesn't lose his mind that easily. But you have to pay attention as it happens quickly. Two mysterious people appear, one without a weapon and the other with a Scythe. When hit with the scythe it makes you forget certain little parts of your memory which are important to the soul society and will help the mysterious duo take away what's more important to them and Ichigo.
The only reason these two mysterious villains are willing to destroy the soul society and all of its inhabitants is because of one person. Rukia. Yes that's right our beloved side kick who's finally regained most of her powers is kidnapped by these two mysterious people. But before she's kidnapped she's hit with the scythe..... This is what sets the rest of the film up. Every one forgets Rukia, and soon Ichigo too. This sets up the scene, storyline and atmosphere for the rest of the film as Ichigo has to force Everyone to remember him and Rukia...... Which you will all find out how it goes when you see the film.

All the way through the film there are epic twists, realistic flash backs that fit in with the original episodes and amazing fighting scenes all the way through. The film is amazing throughout and is amazing throughout all of the action. Its yet again must see film by the creators of Bleach and deserves to be living constantly on the shelves of hmv but is available to order online.

Review 22: Bleach movie 2, DiamondDust Rebellion.

An amazingly happy ending for Ichigo and Hitsugaya.  these two are the main characters for this film, A lot of fans took it as a surprise that such a pair would become the main focus for the second film. This film is mainly based on Htsugayas past with a departed friend.
In the beginning of the film we see squad 10 escorting an item known as the king's seal. Whilst the transportation between the soul society is taking place an unidentified soul reaper wearing a white mask appears with two young girls who resemble Arrancars. The girls are able to control fire and lightning which no one expected, so its a bit like a sneak attack. Whilst the mysterious masked soul reaper welds a sword just like Hitsugayas but claims its his.
A fight breaks out in-between squad 10 and the 3 mysterious intruders, and Hitsugaya abandons his post to chase down the mysterious soul reaper who soon leaves him badly injured.
The news reaches the human realm, which we all know it'll mean our usual friends will found out the news soon enough to help out. The storyline does make sense and the flash backs of Hitsugayas memory add to the story line to make it more.... suspenseful. The graphics are once again up to date, the storyline seems fresh and new, the fighting seems are up to our usual standards and the voice over’s are once again brilliant.
I think that they've made the film speedy; action packed and added the unusual characters in to get more people intrigued in the bleach movies. Even though this is the second movie We're already being dragged and drawn in to the films that we now know will following on and be just as good as all of the others...
One down side to the film is quite small... We all see what happens to the mysterious masked soul reaper at the end.... But we don't see what happens to his 2 little side kicks... You know the ones who control fire and electricity.

I wonder what actually happened to them?.....

Review 21: Bleach movie 1, Memories of nobody

Once again one of the world’s favourite heroes is out to give us all a happy ending... Or is he???
We see in the beginning of the film, Ichigo and our side kick Rukia fighting, yet again, another hollow in a public park. With a slightly hilarious twist to say we've only just put the film on it is quite comfortable and gives you the feeling of the earlier episodes of Bleach.

Basically, the beginning of the film ends up with Ichigos body almost being taken away by the local ambulance service due to his stupideness, yet again...
In the film we see a new type of departed souls; they go by the name of Blanks. And a new small team of bad guys who shouldn't be messed with. They all go by the name of the "dark ones" Not very inventive, I know but its good enough for the lovers of bleach. Their leader Ganryu, is the most fearless and dangerous of them all.

Everyone in this clan have been forbidden from entering the soul society again, this is due to the fact that they all started to consume innocent human souls. As we all know that this is forbidden they were banished, even though there are a few normal recruits to the team we all know that they’re just going to be abnormally weird.
The main characters in the film are Ichigo and an unusually happy young girl named Senna.
Unfortunately she has no memory of her family, the soul society and she knows absolutely nothing about herself.

We first see her amongst the blanks near a train station; she manages to take the majority of them down without any help whatsoever. Ichigo and Rukia, like usual, have no idea who she is, why she's doing this and how its all possible. They have no knowledge of what blanks are or why the have no features or why their even there.

Senna; A happy, funny outgoing character that Everyone grows to love quickly and easily. She's amazing when it comes to fighting, yet the soul societies have no records of her being there. they all soon become suspicious of her and look in to the matter at hand, meanwhile Ichigo and Senna are becoming good friends and have each other for the mean time. No one actually knows anything about this girl or who she is, but she’s capable of having people warm up to her very easily.

All in all for the first film that has been released on the Bleach series it’s a really good start, the graphics are up to date, the voice actors are once again excellent nd we see the usual characters that we see in the series.... so no picky fans of Bleach are left out.
An amazing film from start to finish, if you haven’t seen it yet then go online or to the local movie store, and have a look around.
If you live in England (like me), than the best place to get it is hmv. Their still selling the film online if you can't find it in stores.

Review 20: Naruto Shippuden (He didn`t grow up).

Review 20: Naruto Shippuden (He didn`t grow up).
Well, well, well he's returned to our screens once again. But did he mature???
No
Is he smarter???
No
Did his brightly coloured strange outfit change at all???
NO
Another fun loving Anime program following on from the original Naruto series. We see our favourite hero returning after 2 years training with his sensei. He's still loud and annoying, but for once everyone’s happy to see the demon child that is Naruto. Unfortunetly for his long time friends he still poses that pervy, hot naked chick move which still freaks me out on a mild level.
Well Sakuras still the same to!!! Apart from the fact she's turned into a mini Tsunade, once again creepy on a mild level. Turns out in the years Naruto was training he became a great healer just like Tsunade, We see in the early episodes of Naruto Shippuden that even Tsunade's training may not be enough for some forms of healing. Her appearance has changed ever so slightly, the clothes follow the same colour scheme and fashion from the previous episodes, but I thought she would start growing her hair again for Sasuke, but it seems the shorter look has stayed and will be there to stay for a while.
Apart from this she's literally the same person, a few slight alterations in her wardrobe have not altered the fact that whenever Naruto goes off of task... She's there to hit him. (Obviously)...
With enhanced graphics and a slightly older audience to watch this series of Naruto it seems perfectly normal to me to jump straight in like they have. You know, introducing new characters and meeting up with past members of the Naruto series.
I have to say, I did start to watch the original Naruto series but became bored as i'd already read it. So I thought to fit back into the crowd I would start watching the series again. Good decision for once.
I do think this series is better than the original. I think the only reason I think its better is because, well they've grown up, so its as if people my age can relate to the characters that we love. It may seem weird but it is true.
I know younger kids at my school who prefer the first series to Naruto Shippuden as they can relate to him and the situations he's in.
I don't think Naruto's personality has matured or grown up with him. I think its the appearance and the voice that make him seem older. I actually like this element of Naruto as I prefer his characters to be this way, the series wouldn't be the same if he was smart and sophisticated 24/7. I'm glad with the decision to keep him as a wacky nut job instead of a stuck up tight wod.
I prefer the aged Naruto to the younger one who always wanted to become hokage. Therefore I prefer Naruto Shippuden to the original Naruto series. (Sorry to offend anyone)...
