Review 33: Black Butler (Hello There Sebastian, Demon, Devil, Sir)?!

Review 33: Black Butler (Hello There Sebastian, Demon, Devil, Sir)?
I can't decide whether having a demon as your butler is actually worth it? So what does everyone else think? Do you have to be rich and famous like the characters we see in this anime? Or can you be normal too. Everything is answered in this slightly old but popular anime Black Butler.
So I know this anime has already been watched by billions worldwide but I’ve only just gotten round to watching this... weird series...
I’ve finally completed this amazing series of anime, and I’ve got to say this is actually a typical English based series of anime that has surprisingly become quiet enjoyable for even me! So then, the story line is not confusing in any way, shape or form. This is good if you’re like me, I get un-interested very easily...... It's based in a typical London based in the Victorian era. So we see the common things that actually came up in this sort of time, rat infestations, and mice infestations and of course Jack the ripper.
It isn't too clear what happens to the main character until his butler starts to explain why he behaves in a strange manner around certain thing, and in certain situations. On Ciel Phantomhives 10th birthday, a mysterious fire engulfed the phantomhive manor; with the manor then falling to ruin claiming Ciel's parents, Ciel then ran away. When he returned just a month later he bought along a mysterious looking Butler names Sebastian. Now this is where it seems a bit more interesting; everyone loves Sebastian, the way he handles situations, the way he knows exactly what Ciel wants before he even asks for it..... And the way that he can do anything imaginable and to the best of his ability..... Oh, and the fact that whenever someone compliments him he then says "I’m simply one hell of a butler.
I've got to say it is actually quite good; to say that most mainstream animes are either based in Japan in the future or completely made up worlds, this is actually quite a good anime to say it's only one of the few I’ve seen based in England. The artist for it has managed to get the art perfect and the Phantomhive manor just amazingly amazing! (Amazing).... The style of the clothes that every character is wearing is completely unique but still fits the time period and the setting; the way the characters act towards each other, is funny, yet serious at the same time; The way the situations are planned out and the order that they go in suits all of the characters; just everything the artist and writer has done all the way through this series completely suits England for once.... And that has to be a first for the Japanese
Ciel Phantomhive: He seems quiet and withdrawn most of the time, most of the time he seems like he dislikes the other servants of the Manor and treats them all completely differently compared to the way he treats Sebastian. Even though his parents are dead and most people would still mourn over that when at a young age, he never seems to cry or seem scared even in the scariest of circumstances. He can be quiet demanding though, whenever Sebastian isn't around and non of the other servants will do as he says he seems to show a more violent nature compared to his normal one; when he isn't showing this aggressive nature then he seems to be quiet laid back and enjoys playing games. Even though these games may not be real he seems to play them as if they are, if he dislikes a game he will get it over and done with as quick as possible, if he loves a game then he'll play it really quick so he can then again get another loveable game.... So when we look at him as a game lover he seems to behave un-naturally and strangely towards them. Then later on when we see things get slightly more interesting we can see that he brings these fakes made up games into reality..... A few episodes in when he is playing a board game with a mysterious worker from Italy; we then see Sebastian carrying out the orders from Ciel...... Creating a whole new game for them to play, but this time with real characters..... Let's get off of the depression; before his father and beloved mother passed away they set him up with a woman, she goes by the name of Elizabeth, a classical English name, and loves everything that’s cute (Japan, right there). Even though Ciel dislikes the girl and hates everything cute he still puts up with her and her annoying nature which seems to affect every other character.
Sebastian: Even though he randomly appeared along with Ciel after the death of the lords of the manor, everyone still accepts him for him? It seems kind of weird.... No one ever suspects him of being abnormal or absolutely perfect. Even in the most unlikely of circumstances for some reason Sebastian can always make Ciel pull through. He loves playing games with Ciel, and when I say games I mean not the board games, I mean the games with real people. In the first few episodes when we see their first game; we can see that Sebastian seems to do all of the work in it, whilst Ciel sits up with the original board game waiting for the game to be finally over. Even though the other servants notice that there is something slightly weird and strange that stands out, they still go along with the fact that he will always be Ciel's favourite servant and he can do anything and everything. His mysterious nature suits all of the other people in the anime that come across as evil or bad, this proves that he fits both roles; therefore showing that he has a split personality, that's whenever Ciel feels like playing a game with him.
The other characters are a bit withdrawn from the series; the only other ones that seem to play apart are the annoying servants who can never get anything done, Ciel's aunt who doesn't really suit the Victorian era at all and the under taker who handles the dead bodies of the victims from Jack the ripper. Elizabeth seems to be not so important until later on in the series, but she annoyed me anyway.... so if I’m honest I wasn't really that bothered. (XD).

The art in this series is completely amazing, along with the character design and amongst other things there seem to be a few hiccups in there which ruin the series and the era that it is then set in. It really is a must see (again) and has an amazing story line, the characters in it are amazing, the designs of everything is just amazing and if you’re watching it in English then you will notice how amazing the English voice over’s are!!!
