Review 53: No Game, No Life (ADORABLE)

The only way to describe this anime is just plain bloody adorable... But is that enough to rule over the Imanity race?

Basically, these two siblings remind me of me and my older sister when we where younger. Our first gaming system was a Gamecube from my mum and then my DS... But my dad on the other hand was all Atari and sega megadrive, things like that. Which is one of the reasons that I quite like this anime.

This brother and sister duo are mad video game players who just can't take their eyes off of the screen for five minutes. None of them have any friends, from what I've seen they don't have parents that live with them, they never leave the house and are surrounded by screens in their room that are always lit up with different games or profiles for their characters. Everything is just so brigh in this anime it's practically blinding.

We follow the lives of Sora an 18 year old, virgin male who can't talk to girls to save his life... And his younger sister Shiro (who must be about 11 or 12 years old). They are inseparable, they can't be a certain distance away from each other otherwise they freak out and have these mini panic attacks and then run to each other like some romantic movie.
Together they form the team known as "blank", and every time they play a video game they leave the name space blank, and that's how the "blank" became this weird urban legend that are currently un-defeated, most people think that they are cheaters or hackers of some sort that cheat their way through games to beat everyone else.

We join them as they're fighting in an online game, they're controlling four different characters in-between the two of them and are literally destroying every other player who approaches them, then it cuts to them both... An older brother and younger sister bored out of their minds sat in a room surrounded by screens, its deadly quiet and they look about half dead and malnourished. Well, they kick ass anyways and never want to lose. Then they get challenged, to a small game of chess from an unknown player who knows who they are... Then their screens get taken over, and arms come out, some weird techy stuff happens and then BOOM!! They're in another world! A little boy called Tet who claims that he's a god lets them live in this new world, but they have to follow the rules. There's a sort of spell that's cast over the world, and everyone has to live by the ten pledges and it's almost impossible to break one of the funniest ones... But if you want to know them, then go and watch them cause it's kind of weird and their falling from 10,000 feet above the ground whilst theirs a little kid telling them the rules.

In total there are 16 different species that live in this world called "disboard" the top species are actually the gods and the bottom species are the humans. The reason being is that the ranks are done in ranking of magical ability, so humans are just right down there at the bottom. However, there is only one civilization of humans left in the world, a city called Elkia who currently has no king. They enter this new world and old fashioned city and there's a tournament going on for the next king, however everything in this world is decided by simple games... So people are playing poker to become king, it's very strange! I'm going to add a little spoiler here, but it happens in the 4th episode anyway, so it isn't too far in to the series; But Sora and Shiro become king and queen and they are trying their best to save Elkia in the most casual way possible.

They have to be the most laid back characters I've seen for a while, they're in a completely new world and don't even give a damn! The only thing they're deadly serious about are the games that they play, and probably cute naked girls. They're pretty cool though, Shiro is a twisted cute girl who doesn't speak that much and wears cute little dresses that love! And Sora is a horny virgin who just needs a cute girl to hug, but instead he just enslaves them and they give him information and cook for him and just look all cute.
Yeah the girls in this are just adorable and I want one as my girly best friend, but there is quite a bit of fan service with them and even with the younger sister! Shiro, the sister, is the most twisted and makes one of the girls undress and pretend to be a dog at one point, she just does weird R rated things that even her brother finds a bit weird, and then when he does something R rated she just finds it perfectly normal. Now I hate fan service, the panty shots are quite annoying now but the girls have quirky and stupid personalities that I quite like so I don't mind;  think if there are any more I might be put off quite a bit, and I'm almost finished with the series now... I've put up with too many oversized boobs and too many striped panties!

Everything in this anime is beautifully designed and is put together perfectly, the designing is gorgeous and everything you see is brightly colored. The scenes around the city are bright green and yellow, and gorgeous and oh my god I love it. I think that's the main reason I like this anime, just the designing for the whole show is amazing and It completely suits the theme of this being a new world with completely new species of people/animals. The storyline is lacking something, probably because we don't know that much about the characters or the back story of these characters... Then there isn't a lot of detail into the backstory of everyone else, sometimes things like this can get confusing and seem rushed and then I just lose track of what's going on.
To me, it does seem rushed in some ways, like how the characters don't quite question anything around them because they "like it" was a bit absurd. It may just be the fact that the series just jumps into exactly what it wants to be, it seems to be lacking back bone and it seems to be missing some pieces of information until later on. I think in the first few episodes they just go with the flow of what they've planned for the series, then later on their appears to be something that they've actually carefully planned out. Like the previous king and his secrets, the tactics for overcoming the other races and then them restoring humanity in this new world.

So I guess the beginning put me off a bit, it seemed to me like they rushed into it and It even took me some time to sit and think "right, there in a new world, they like it and everything is hunkey dory at the moment". Then at other times it had a gradual build up that made perfect sense for that kind of scenario.
Then there was the constant panty shots and squeezing of breasts that put me off hugely! It's an anime about going to a different world, living with fantasy creatures and trying to restore humanity... So why does there have to be panty shots and stuff all of the time? I know some perverts who play online games have to give the woman a pair of little panties and some nipple protectors, but to enjoy an anime, and I mean REALLY enjoy an anime I prefer to not have something that has been purposely placed to draw in a specific kind of audience... This one must be World of Warcraft men who pretend to be kinky women when online kind of audience.
I enjoyed the anime, besides the story problems, so why do they have to add fan service! Surely it was enjoyable and funny to watch without it!? Right?

Review 52: One Punch Man (Cute, bold, potato man)

Another one that was suggested by my boyfriend, and many other people that I speak to on a chat site called Chatango. Just one thing... Is that training for real?

One punch man is an action, comedy, weird, cyborg, human testing, hero fighting naked thing of an anime...Seriously, some of the guys in this just either like being naked or just lose their clothes half way through a fight. It's very strange and something I had never expected because of the title, I thought it was going to be a super serious hero who fights for justice and the innocent!.. But no, he's a short bold man who fights as if he's a hero for the fun of it. Rather quite strange actually, as soon as he started fighting as One punch man... he lost all of his hair.

We meet this weird, small bald man who only fights and protects people because he enjoys it. In the series, three years before we meet him, he did basic fitness training?.. I know! How can a summer of basic fitness training magically give you the power to destroy anything with just one simple punch? He lives in a small trampy and old looking apartment and he lives all by himself, just a bold looking potato man really. In this world, the Hero association is what protects humanity. People who think that they are hero material register with them and then are placed into a category and a Rank, an example would be Rank C 283 or something along the lines of that, and the highest is the rank S. A lot of people are involved with the Hero association and many of them are just idiots who think that they can fight. But the whole reason for the Hero association is that the world is attacked by monsters constantly. So, the heroes are called in to keep everyone safe! The threats come in levels too so some heroes don't have to waste their time and some go because they are supposed to go.

His real name is Saitama, and he's got to be one of my few favourite but slightly odd looking, who has a strange personality kind of characters... if that even made any sense. When he started his basic fitness training, he had started to notice that his hair was falling out and ended up becoming completely bold by the end of it. So the training he does is that ridiculously basic that no one can take him seriously about it. he does 100 Push-ups, 100 Squats, 100 sit-ups and runs 10K every single day... Which is ridiculous, just the idea of it all is ridiculous really, how the hell can this sort of training allow one little man to destroy anything and everything with just one punch.
He's a really funny character, he wants to watch TV and do nothing all day, but then he wants to find something so strong that just One punch won't kill it. So he's always searching for something interesting to kill but he wants to go shopping and watch TV and then water the flowers on his balcony every now and then.

Quite early on in the story, he meets a Cyborg teenager who wants to become a hero and bring "justice" to the cyborg animal thing that destroyed his village.  Believe it or not, when these two become heroes together, the cyborg kid actually ends up being a higher rank than One Punch Man! Oh, and this creepy cyborg kid follows One Punch Man around everywhere as he is now his master and trainer... It's slightly odd, but you get used to seeing them together after a while.There isn't really much to say to be honest with you guys, he punches things and they die?.. That's about it really. All he wants to do is get fans, become the strongest, go up in the rankings (when he finally understands them) and find an enemy who will take more than one punch before dying. Not much to ask for really!

It's been a while since I found an art style that enjoyed, the transitions inbetweenn the smooth clueless potatoe man and the series fighter who needs to prove himself are flawless and enjoyable to watch. It's weird seeing such an innocent man destroy everything that challenges him. It's extremely funny to watch and I quite enjoyed the whole series, It's a shame that I don't have enough time to watch anymore because I would love to just sit down and watch it again really.
It's very a very enjoyable series, but the only problem that I have with the series as a whole is... How the hell can a monster come and destroy practically half of Japan and then in the next episode it's all just randomly re-spawned?

Review 51: Gurren Laggan (Living underground).

Review 51: Gurren Laggan (Living underground).

SHE`S LIKE 12 YEARS OLD, WHAT THE HELL!

Another one that my boyfriend was bugging me to watch, and one that I had actually seen pictures of before but I never even knew what it was called... But there's fanservice...This is an odd series, where all humans live under ground in small towns. We start off in a town where practically everyone is a minor and live in small holes in the walls, they're trying to expand the town by digging into the walls even more... They don't believe in the surface. Well, they don't want to believe in the surface.

The story is set in the future, a long time ago humans where run underground by beast men and their king, also known as the spiral king. They own machines called Gunmen and roam the surface attacking whoever remains or wonders up there. People who live underground live in fear of earthquakes which collapse parts of their towns, who are actually the gunmen above them. Simon is our main character, he's one of the towns diggers and he comes across a strange key in shape of a tiny drill, then later comes across a small Gunman. No other villages underground have contact with each other, so no one even knows about these gunman or what is actually on the surface and as to why they live in constant fear of it. It starts off with a gunman falling through the ceiling of their village, and our two main protagonists trying to prove themselves to everyone else and trying to fight it off; but then one of our other main characters appears from the surface, then the real story begins.

Here's a short list of the characters and what their personalities are like:

Simon: In the beginning, he's extremely quiet and weak but later grows to become the strong main character that the series should of started off with. He's one of the villages diggers and he helps to expand and help the village grow bigger. He's introduced to us when he is only 14 years old, and has no parents; unfortunately one of the earthquakes had killed them as a part of the village had collapsed. He is supposed to be the main character, but his brotherly role model seems to stand out a lot more. His discovery of the small gunman and the core drill (the weird drill shaped key) are what start off the whole story, and stay with him throughout the series.

Kamina: To me, he seemed like he was supposed to be the main character of the series, as his personality and attitude stand out so much more than Simon. He's his older brotherly figure, since Simon hasn't got any family members and not a lot of friends in the village, he looks up to Kamina as his only friend and only family member. He's one of the only inspirational characters in the series, but sometimes you just want him to shut about how his "drill will break through the heavens". Like seriously, just calm down a little bit? He's the only person in his village who believes in the surface, as his dad went to the surface and left him behind so he could one day join him; from then on he's believed so strongly in the surface that he tried to break through the ceiling before the gunman came and crashed through the ceiling. He forms a random team with Simon, called Dai-Gurren and nominated himself as the team leader. Later on, he hijacks a gunman and combines with Simon's smaller gunman which is then famously called Gurren Laggan.

Yoko: God I hate fanservice, but I love this character... Even though I would appreciate some sort of clothing on her. She appears in the beginning as the Gunman falls through the ceiling and into simons village, even though she's about the same age as Simon, she carries a high powered gun with her and jumps around like an athlete all of the time... She's also practically naked the whole time. Her whole village had to be evacuated as a dangerous gas had leaked out and they had to leave before they suffocated and died, basically. They now have to live on the surface, and now they are all fighting for their lives on a day to day basis; they're the only ones that we know of that have to live on the surface and they all use guns to fight off the gunman, at the moment, they just live in a crack in between two cliffs that they've had to live in since.

I won't say anymore because you meet most of the other important characters further on, these are just the first basic ones. Even though it's kind of an old anime and you can tell from some scenes and animations during the fights, the storyline is good and I loved the characters in it... even though some of them need to learn how to keep quite.

Just a little further on there's a few plot twists, and around about episode 8 I wanted to cry.. Yeah. There's loads of other characters who hijack gunmans and join the fight with the other main protagonists, and I thought that was such a positive thing to do during the series since I thought that it would just be the same few through the whole thing, but we get to see a lot more people and a lot more personalities and attitudes towards the main characters as they are practically completely opposite people. I was surprised when I realized that the whole series was panned out over the course of 7 years and in the end you get to see Simon all grown up and looking completely badass! The storyline gets a tiny bit confusing, and I got lost at some points, but I still enjoyed. There is a slight twist that made me feel really smart too, we get to meet the spiral kings daughter and then she tags along throughout the story and helps out the main characters all the way; further on in the story, the reason it gets so active and filled with fights is because this girl appears.

To be honest with everyone, I was seriously put off by the fact that Gunmen are giant robots, I really don't like robots and cyborgs and I'm a big fan of supernatural beings or natural powers. So the fact that I enjoyed the anime was even a surprise to me! Even though it was made in 2007, and even though it doesn't seem that long animation and graphics has come a long way, I was surprised that I would be impressed with a slightly bad animation, fighting robot, fanservice kind of anime. However, it did feel like their might of been something missing throughout the anime and I still can't figure out what it was; it wasn't characters, storyline, the plot twists or the anime as a general piece... But throughout the anime there was something missing, and I'm starting to think that it was the script for the characters, everything felt a little bit repetitive as if you've heard the same thing before but in another situation or another time period. Just one of the small downfalls for me, and it wasn't that hard to notice actually, it took me a while to figure out what was bugging me and I'm not even sure if it was this! (I'll figure it out soon).

I wouldn't recommend it to everyone, I would say that the target audience is definitely aimed at men, or young hormonal boys who needed some kickass, half naked, young woman to prance around on their screen. I enjoyed it still, but that isn't much evidence as to how good it is because I enjoy anything, simple minded! I would say to just go and watch it, maybe just the first episode or so to see if it's for you. I always feel like cyborg kind of animes aren't for everyone, but for once I enjoyed one!

Review 50: Durarara (Anger-Management At A Completely Different Level)!

This has to be my boyfriend’s favorite anime (along with digimon, bleach, Pokémon, you get the idea), so he got me watching it... but did I love it as much as he did? Pretty much, f*ck yes; It was amazing to watch and I loved almost every single character. It made me laugh quite a bit, and I ended up getting confused with who the "dollars" are and who runs the dollars organization. But yeah... I did enjoy it a LOT, but I still haven't finished watching the series so I still need to get around to that eventually.

In the beginning, a young boy moves to a different town, a city; he wants to live a long and exciting life and decided to start over elsewhere. He moves away to Ikebukuro, their lives his childhood friend Masaomi. They meet at up at the train station, even though it’s been many years since they last met, they walk around the city and discuss life. However, there's many people in Ikebukoru that you don't want to have a run in with... Unfortunately, some of them have no become my favorite characters. The city of Ikebukuro used to be overrun with colored gangs, all of which wore clothing of their gang color. They eventually calmed down (from the amount that we see, they practically disbanded), and the dollars appeared. The dollars are a gang of no color, and no one knows who the other members are; they only recognition of each other that they have, is their online group chat username. Occasionally you'll run into one in the streets, but it's rare. You get to meet all of the side characters, in total there's about 10 different central characters. In each episode, the episode is told by a different character or a different group of characters. Because of the story being told by different people, you get to see the same story from a different perspective; the best part is that you get to see their involvement in this strange and twisted story.

Mikado Ryugamine: He's in his first year at high school, he originally lived in the small town of Saitama, surrounded by farming fields and forests of green; but in hope for a more exciting life, he moves away to the busy city of Ikebukuro where he expected the exciting life with his childhood friend. He no longer wants to live an ordinary life, which is why he moved away and in my opinion, is why he is such an unusual and strange character. Further on in the programme they drop small hints towards his connection to the Dollars gang. He's extremely quiet and doesn't speak his mind or express himself until further on in the anime, when he did start to be himself, he was much more interesting. 

Masaomi Kida: He's a strange one, very loud and the complete opposite to his childhood friend Mikado. There are quite a lot of juicy pieces of information about him, some of which my wonderful boyfriend ruined for me; I seriously don't want to ruin what happened to him or before Mikado moves to the same town as him... But he was extremely involved in the Yellow gang, also known as the Yellow Scarves. He's a complete ladies' man and hits on whoever he thinks is cute, however, he always fails.

Shizuo Heiwajima: Is one of my absolute favorite characters! He can be quite hot headed, but the majority of the time he can remain calm and collected; He's aggressive but relaxed at the same time and really is quite strange. He has bright blonde hair and wears sunglasses ALL of the time, he walks around in a bartenders uniform ALL of the time. There's quite an odd backstory to him, and mainly involves how he grew up with his brother; who is now very high up in the world of show business and performing. He has extraordinary skills and abnormal human strength that allows him to lift super heavy inanimate objects, but due to the strength that he had, when he was younger he would always injure himself or break a few bones. He's completely against violence... Which makes no sense since he gets so angry so quickly and ends up throwing things all over the streets. Also a member of the Dollars.

Celty sturluson: She's a very difficult character who has no head. She's a member of the Dollars, and is very close to Shizuo. She always wears a tight black leather suit and rides around on a jet black motorbike. However, she isn't actually human, she's a Dullahan. A mythical monster with no head, they usual walk around with their head and they ride a horse; her story begins with someone stealing her head and then she travels to japan to try and seek it out, and the bike she rides? It's actually her headless horse in disguise as a bike, keeping up with the times and all that. Since she hasn't got a head, she has a motorcycle helmet that balances where her head should be; because of this, she can only communicate via PDA and online chatting. She has un-natural strength, a lot like Shizuo, except that she can also create objects out of this strange shadow, mainly weapons. She lives with a man, her only close friend and her only roommate, Shinra. She has a thing for punching him in the stomach whenever he talks about how much he loves her and his feelings for her, even without a head.

Izaya Orihara: Is just sh*it balls weird and confusing. At first I didn't know what to think of him really, I was just confused as to what his personality was really supposed to be like and I couldn't decide on my opinion on him. At one point, he convinces a girl to supposedly commit suicide with him and then he claims to love all human beings... Besides Shizuo... He hates him to such an extent, that he'll turn up out of the blue just so Shizuo can try and throw something at him. After years and years of fighting with Shizuo, he is now an absolute master in Parkour and trickery, I'm sure some of the things he does are just humanly impossible. Since he is a member of the Dollars, he often recruited new members and used his membership as an excuse to keep Celtys head a secret from her, he's a master in deceiving people, tricking the innocent, messing your mind and getting inside of your head. He knows everything about everyone and will use it to his advantage.

They are all of the characters I'm going to list for this review, there are a lot that the anime focuses on, but typing them all up would be pretty pointless as most of the characteristics and what they do are pretty self-explanatory. All of the characters link up to the same storyline, but we all get to see different parts of their lives and what they do outside of the Dollars. Most of the other supporting characters are really funny and quirky, some of them also tend to have random outburst of rage. Just like any other cliché group of anime friends that everyone else wants. There's so much that you have to try and piece together slowly as the programme goes, to be honest with you; I got the majority of it wrong and my boyfriend sat just pulling sarcastic faces at me as I shouted out random names.

I seriously enjoyed this anime, I think it has to be one of the few I've enjoyed in a while as I'm only just starting to get into these shows once more and I'm only just starting to feel more involved with characters, I think I just needed some time off from watching anime so I could really get into them again.I really enjoyed this one, I'll definitely be watching it through to the end. There are some strange and un-expected events throughout that make you think more about the character and what another character must be going through at the same time. It gives you stuff to think about and luckily, I was awake enough to be thinking about and processing the storyline. I'm really happy with how it's going so far, it’s the only anime where the characters that I've wanted to either succeed or fail actually have and it makes me feel so bloody smug.

It's definitely worth watching, at first I thought that it would be disappointing as my boyfriend (David) kept on bugging me to watch it week after week... So I thought it would suck, I will be watching it till the end and I would love to hear everyone else's opinion on the anime as a while as I'm still not that far into it.

Review 49: Assassination Classroom (I wouldn`t mind him as a teacher)!

So 70% of the moon has gone, and there's a random Octopus that really... REALLY, likes teaching kids who have practically no chance at getting anywhere in life. So what the hell is that thing? 

I'm actually watching the anime as I'm writing this up right now, I'm quite enjoying it and it's quite amusing to watch. If anything, this would be quite boring if it wasn't for the personality of that weird Octopus thing that seems to love children.
I also have my boyfriend moaning at me and saying "I told you so!" Cause he said I would enjoy this but i disagreed at first... And now I'm wrong. 

So the first things first, 70% of the moon has been destroyed by an un-known life source; which then happens to be this weird alien teacher. The military then place the alien in a classroom and have to try to explain to the children as to what is happening. In a year the Earth will be destroyed, just like the moon that is now in a permanent crescent shape.
he really wants to get the kids grades up before he ends the world, he hasn't spoken about why he would like to blow up the Earth and nobody questioned it at the beginning.

The kids he want's to teach belong in a class called E-3, which is more commonly known as "The end class." It's basically the last chance class, teachers decide to throw them out if they aren't doing as good as the other students; they end up in this pathetic excuse for a class. They aren't aloud to the main school campus and have to live in the old one which is tiny and looks more like a wooden shack then a school building. Other students pick on them constantly and then try to get them into trouble if they ever retaliate, 

The military come into class and tell them what the kids need to do; they are given special guns, knives and bullets; the bullets are only BB bullets but they contain something inside that are deadly to the Alien. Every other day the children try to murder their teacher with different strange ways, in-between them... They will be given 10 Billion. So I really don't blame them for trying to kill him every other second of the day.
On the other hand... THIS TEACHER IS FREAKING AWESOME. I don't see why anyone would want to kill him, but then again, because of the circumstances and the hugeee pile of money involved. He's seriously funny, witty and pretty awesome, the kids even name him in since he doesn't even have one... It's quite a strange person/alien thing. 

So far I am enjoying this quite a lot, it's weird seeing the kids fall in love with him as he slowly tries different methods to teach them; he wants them to do the best that they can, slightly weird even though the world is going to be destroyed as soon as the year is up.
Here are some of the main characters:

Korosensei: The name that he was given to him means,  "un-killable" A name that they decided on in the beginning since no one has even landed a hit on him yet. The only one that does cause some sort of damage is, Karma; but since the alien can regenerate in a matter of seconds, it doesn't really matter. He doesn't tell the kids much about himself, if anything he just wants to help them with their grades. His face changes with his emotions too, which is creepy and it changes the mood of the kids too, since it's that visible; when he gets green stripes, he feels superior to others, when a student gets something wrong he'll get a large X on his face and when they get something right he'll get a large O on his face... there is also shock, sadness, anger and angry which have the colors dark blue, light blue, red and then black... We don't get to see the black face that much since that's when he really loses his temper and mainly happens when a student is in some sort of trouble, (We see it in one of the first episodes when a student turns into a suicide bomber). He's about 3 meters tall, he can travel at the speed of light and loves to casually fly around the world whenever he has the chance; but he mainly just picks up food. 

Nagisa Shiota: So at first I thought that he was actually a girl, He's quite small and has blue hair and a waistcoat. We see things from his perspective and hear the thoughts inside of his head; he's interesting and seems to be the latest arrival to the "end class." He seems to be the most logical out of the majority of the students; he takes notes on the aliens weaknesses and writes down anything that has failed against him. He also seems to be the only one who plans out how to attack correctly and at the right time; he takes notes on the Aliens mood changes and when he let's his guard down, for example, after lunch he gets tired and is a bit more vulnerable then usual. Strangely enough he is bullied by two students who are on the main campus of the school, who are both incredibly nerdy and used to be in his class. He lives at home with his abusive parents, which surprisingly helps with him becoming an assassin and judging the aliens moves; because he can tell his own mothers moods and moments apart, it helps him figure out what kind of actions to take around the alien before going in for the strike. 

Karma Akabane: When we first meet him, he seems to be an utter true psychopath. He is incredibly violent and very smart... He is thrown into "The End" class after beating up a teacher; The teacher was always on his side since he had amazing grades and is incredibly smart, but after beating up another student the teacher admits that it was only for his reputation that has now been damaged by him. Even though the reason for beating up this students was for bull lying an end class student, the teacher still puts him down for it; and in the end, Karma beats him up... Strange to think that a student could actually do that aswell, especially when the teacher was a grown man. 

The rest of the class are actually quite involved when you think about it; It's not like in other animes where they just sit and not interact with the main characters. So I really enjoy the involvement that the other characters, that would be considered as NPC's, have with the main characters. They talk quite a bit and have a decent amount of interaction with Korosensei too.

It is very funny, and I'm really enjoying it at the moment; I just don't want Korosensei to die!

Review 48: Death Parade (Who will you face).

Review 48: Death Parade (Who Will You Face). 

This is quite a recently made anime which came out in 2015! Hell yes, something updated for me to watch and share with you guys! But does it make dying even more horrifying? 

So the anime revolves around the afterlife and people who work for god himself, they are called the "Arbiters". Whenever two people died at the same time and around the same kind of area they would both be sent as a pair to a bar in the afterlife; there the arbiters would play a game to decide if one of their souls would be destroyed, or if one is to be re-born.
(The games all take place in a bar aswell, kinda weird).
The games are just a twisted way of revealing their secrets to the other person and for them to admit the wrongs in their lives. For instance, there's a couple who where about to have a child, but the woman admitting to cheating on the husband... But the Arbiters need to know the truth in order to section the souls the right way; they have to judge the souls that come to them, the games just help them reveal all sorts of things about that person, which could anger the other person who came with them, or make them feel sorry for them and therefore, they reveal something about themselves.
It's all just a little game that's used to reveal secrets that no one knew about.
(If that makes sense).
The game also uses the two different souls body parts, so if you play darts; the dart board will have certain parts of the body that you have to hit, the center will be the heart and the further away you get from the center they will get less fatal.
Most people think that they are going to kill each other by playing the game, and then they get angry and secrets are revealed... i quite like watching them lose it actually, or how they figure out that they are actually dead; however came up with the concept must know a lot about the human mind and how humans assume these things so quickly. 

I love the concept to it, and if I actually ever cosplay any character; then it would be one of the woman who work in the tower that the souls are sent too.

Decim: The people we see judged are judged by this man, he owns the bar named Quindecim... he also has a very creepy hobby of making mannequins who look like the past people that he has to judge, which creeps out the majority of people who see them when they come to be judged. 

Nona: The woman I would happily cosplay as, She's Decims boss and overlooks the tower. She usually stays on the 90th floor, she also comes down to Decim so he can make her her favorite drink and she sometimes sits in on the games and overlooks them. She's pretty cool, even though she's small and a woman and the looks seriously young, she intimidates the other Arbitars. 

Chiyuki: we're focused on her side of the judged, she wakes up at the bottom of the tower with no memories as to what happened to her, who she is or what her life could of been like. She's referred to as the the "Black Haired woman". She assists Decim in his bar and helps with the decisions that need to be made about their souls. 

There are other people in the tower that we get to meet, one of my other favorites has (along with Nona), has to be Clavis; he runs the elevator service for the Arbitars and just constantly smiles. He has a cool green themed design and he just seems like the only one who at least tires to look positive when around others, but I think he's awesome.
I'm not going to say too much about this one, I haven't watched that much of it so far; so I can't go into any more depth than I already have and I can't explain that much behind the characters because not much is revealed until later on.

Review 47; Tokyo Ghoul (Gimp Masks Everywhere)...

So I've been told time and time again, not just by you guys, but also close friends and web friends to watch this... But was it worth it?

The majority of you just haven't shut up about this, I've had messages, I've had comments and I've had my friends bugging me to watch this. If anything everyone seems pretty hyped up about the anime. But i hadn't actually watched or seen any images to do with this anime until, i think, two or three weeks ago.
So even my boyfriend had started to bug me about watching this, so i gave it ago and i swear to god the main character just likes gimp masks or something.

So as soon as the anime started i began to hate it, if you read any of my reviews then you would know that i hate the panty flashing and the big boobed princesses that some animes have. It wasn't too bad, but it was still there which bugged me just a litttleeee bit.
So we start of with our main character becoming friends with a young woman who just happens to be a Ghoul (He doesn't know), she ends up turning on him and attempting to eat him alive... But just by Coincidence , there's an accident which means that she is killed and he lives by a thread. so obviously their smart enough to give him parts of the Ghouls body which then turns him into a half Ghoul half human thing. 

so at first i thought that the Ghoul concept was pretty weird; If they try to eat human food it's bloody disgusting and they spit it out straight away, also if they swallow it they could potentially be very ill... which i get because if your a different species then it's understandable but the whole taste thing bugs me because i think that Humans could of tricked ghouls and killed them secretly by doing stuff with human meat instead of just killing ghouls.
Also all Ghouls seem very kinky and are into gimp masks; So most of the characters go to some guy who makes masks so they can hide from police or the authorities, and then they all seem to have an orgasm when they eat meat or see a human being killed... So it was quite awkward for me to watch since i didn't expect any of that. 

Our main character called Ken Kaneki looks so innocent and sweet in the beginning and i loved the fact that he was completely oblivious to practically everything that was going on. But near the end of the first season he turns badass and his hair is white and he always wears the gimp mask and he takes a SERIOUSLY un-expected change of heart which made me hate him just a little bit more.
But i loved the first season, but near the end of the second season the animation of the anime as a whole turned rather shit and disappointed me; in fact, i only watched a few episodes of the second season because people said it got even worse, so i picked out episodes and watched them and then got the internet to fill me in on parts. 

Ken Kaneki; is seriously shy and his best friend is pushy and comes across as a loud mouth. So his mother died from over working herself and he doesn't have any family, all he has is his close friend; so he lives in an apartment by himself and goes to school with his friend and he seems like a very average person all in all... But when the Ghouls body parts are placed in him and he starts to realize what humans are really like to these unfortunate creatures, he takes an unsightly turn and just starts to hate everyone in existence... which is seriously strange to believe when he was so innocent and you kind wanted to grab his cheeks and cuddle him because you wanted to wind him up.
But i felt so, so, so bad for him in the beginning because of everything that happened, but at the end of the first season i seriously started to hate him it made me love the other characters that i hated in the beginning. 

I bloody hated the Ghoul hunters though; once they kill a ghoul they take their weapon ,which in most cases, is tucked inside their body somewhere and it breaks out when they need it. So it was upsetting when they took a dead womans weapon so they could kill her daughter too; i literally wanted to cry when i saw the tease her and make her upset. She was one of those cute characters that i wanted to hug. 

So did i like it? Yes i fucking did, the character designs where un-usual especially when you think "This adorable little kid is actually a human eating machine" Or when you see their weapons which become even awesomier as you go along. But i was over all quite disappointed with the second season and i didn't see the point in watching it all of the way through. But the little bits that i picked out where still averagely good to watch, but good knows what happened to the animators... Maybe they where drunk or something?
It was good and very enjoyable, i don't know if i would re-watch the whole thing again though; maybe the last half of the first season and if i had the time i might actually watch the whole of the second season just to see if it really is that bad altogether.
It's a little bit on the gory side (Not as bad as the other things i've seen), But it isn't completely disgusting that you don't watch it; some sites even go to the lengths of blurring out the blood just for those who want to watch it but don't like the gore, so just look out for those if you don't enjoy all of the blood and stuffing your face with intestines

I also fell in love with the art style in this one, the way that the weapons formed and took shape was pretty interesting to me... So there's something else to look out for.
